Rainbow's End is a proper family endeavour. Dr Jacques Malan gave up his practice to pursue his love of wine. Now his son Anton makes the wine and his other son Francois tends the vines of the 22 hectare estate in Stellenbosch. The vineyards rise up from the valley floor to 550m above sea level high up the Jonkershoek Mountain.
This October we'll be welcoming Anton over for a special 'Meet the Winemaker' dinner where you'll taste six of the vineyards gems expertly paired with six dishes from our talented executive chef.
Winemakers treat each vintage year separately and make what the season and the specific terroir of a specific vineyard block offers. Every year the winemaking techniques differ slightly in order to ensure the best possible result irrespective of a particular style. What is produced is a unique product and different wine style annually – the best that the season can offer, a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.
