One of the most inspiring projects Vivat Bacchus is supporting is Education Town, an initiative led by Dr. Taddy Blecher through the Africa College Foundation (MII U.K.). Located in Johannesburg’s Central Business District, Education Town is revitalising a previously struggling area by providing education, nourishment, and empowerment to young South Africans and their families.
The impact of Education Town is extraordinary. For just £2,500, a student can be educated, fed, and empowered for an entire year. With £400, four students can be fed for a full year. The results of this program are remarkable: 95% of students who graduate from Education Town secure job placements, a stark contrast to the 60% unemployment rate for their age group.

To further support this transformative cause, Vivat Bacchus is hosting a charity dinner on Friday, 24th January 2025—World Education Day—at its Farringdon location. Dr. Taddy Blecher will join the event to share the inspiring work taking place at Education Town. The evening will feature South African-inspired food and wine, special guests, and firsthand stories of transformation.
Tickets for this unforgettable evening are £400 per person, and every ticket sold will directly fund Education Town, providing food for four students for an entire year. With limited seats available, guests are encouraged to secure their places early to be part of this meaningful evening.

In addition to the charity dinner, Vivat Bacchus has introduced a £1 donation to every bill, with the goal of raising at least £25,000 annually to fund 10 students for a full year.
